The Wine Pig's 12 Wines of Christmas 2017

While we're all celebrating the festive seasons, The Wine Pig would like to introduce it's top 12 wines of Christmas! It was an EPIC line up this year and we wish a huge congratulations and thank you to everyone involved!

2017 Sangiovese Rose, The Hedonist

The Wine Pig kicks off the 12 Wine of Christmas for 2017 with a newcomer on the list! The Hedonist’s 2017 Sangiovese Rose is beautifully crisp and elegant with plenty of that gorgeous strawberry, cream and rose petal aroma to perfectly match these sunny Australian days. We can’t wait to show you what the rest of the line up will bring.

2016 Chardonnay, Bunnamagoo Estate

Bunnamagoo’s 2016 Chardonnay is a perfect pick for the second day of The Wine Pig’s 12 Wines of Christmas. We’ve been a long time fan of this delicious Chardy and this year continues to excite us. The French barrel fermentation brings out tons of delicious oaky stonefruit flavours which just go perfectly with warm summer nights and plenty of Christmas cake!

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, Soumah

Day 3 of The Wine Pig’s 12 Days of Christmas and it’s about time we tucked into a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon like this one from Soumah in Yarra Valley. Rich and powerful with big berry flavours this beautiful wine is a perfect accompaniment to any Christmas roast lunch with the family!

2017 Semillon, Gartelmann

No Aussie Christmas would be complete without a bottle of Hunter Valley Semillon in the table. Gartelmann’s 2017 ‘Benjamin’ Semillon steps up to the plate for The Wine Pig’s 4th day in the 12 Wines of Christmas! It’s superbly elegant and fresh with plenty of refreshing fresh citrus.

2015 Tempanillo, Doc Adams

It’s day 5 of The Wine Pig’s 12 Days of Christmas and we’re cracking open a 2015 Tempranillo from McLaren Vale’s very fabulous Doc Adams. It’s deliciously spicy with heaps of oak and cherry but it’s a lighter Spanish style meaning it’s extra perfect for a Christmas table full to the brim with turkey!!

2016 Venus Block Chardonnay, Peppertree

A perfectly elegant and crisp cold climate wine is a perfect addition to The Wine Pig’s 12 Wines of Christmas. Pepper Tree’s 2016 Venus Block Chardonnay is packed to the brim with stonefruit and fig flavours and is absolutely delicious! Merry Christmas.

2016 Upper Hunter Rose, James Estate

James Estate’s 2016 Upper Hunter Rose is a perfect choice for the 7th day of Christmas. Its a perfect blend of Shiraz, Merlot and Cab Franc giving a lusciously fresh and juicy wine with lots of berry notes and a hint of cinnamon.

2013 Reserve Shiraz, Mountainside Wines

We wish you a Merry Christmas!! For The Wine Pig’s 8th wine of Christmas we picked a gorgeous 2013 Reserve Shiraz from the very fabulous Mountainside Wines. Made only when conditions produce the best grapes, this wine is rich and full of aromatics and bold spicy berry flavours .

2016 Verduzzo, Tallavera Grove

It’s starting to taste a lot like Christmas...! Tallavera Grove’s 2016 Loveable Rogue ‘Funky Ferment’ Verduzzo from Orange, NSW makes the list as The Wine Pig’s 9th wine of Christmas. It’s fresh and crisp with lots of apple and stonefruit flavours, perfect for the Christmas table this year!

2016 Forgotten IDA Grenahe, Lost Buoy Wines

The 10th wine of Christmas comes from Lost Boy Wines in McLaren Vale. The 2016 Forgotten IDA Grenache is wonderfully smooth, creamy and light, the perfect match for Christmas... And check out that stunning label!

2016 Rose, Toolangai

I’m dreaming of a PINK Christmas. It’s about time we cracked open a 2016 Yarra Valley Rose by Toolangi. A beautifully delicate and soft Shiraz Rose it’s juicy and fruity but balanced citrus making it ideal for a long afternoon drinking in the sunshine.

2016 Tempranillo, Briar Ridge

On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me... a fabulous glass of Tempranillo from Briar Ridge in the Hunter Valley. It’s vibrant, rich and spicy with plenty of dark berries and worth every single cent. Spoil yourself this Holiday season!
